MY UNFORGETTABLE VACATION

Assalamua'laikum everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meet you again at mataairsyurga's blog. For today’s posting, I would like to share about my unforgettable holiday at Cairo, Egypt. I've been there for one year from the end of the year 2003 until the beginning of the year 2005. I want to say sorry to all of you because I forgot the date of my vacation but I just only could remember the year. This is my FIRST vacation in my whole life. Now, let me tell you about my experiences along one year I'd been in Egypt. I felt so excited to write this post!!!!

I went to Egypt with my family and stayed at Mohandiseen city.  I'm sure all of you want to know what's the main purpose we were going there. Is it only for a vacation or there's another purpose that made us stay a long days in there? Actually, our father got permission from his head officer to do a practical at University of Cairo, Egypt. So our father wants us to follow him to get new experience at that country. We were so happy after heard about this good news! All of us already know that Egypt was the famous place for vacation. It was a historical place that everyone should go. There was an omission of a pharaoh like Pyramids, jewelries, mummies, old writing and so many more. Pyramid was the one of the world wonders. Egypt became a famous country because of the pyramids and I heard people said that someone who going to Egypt for a holiday will not get a perfect holiday if he or she didn't visit the Pyramids.

Egypt has four climates which is consist of summer, winter, spring and autumn. We were very lucky because we have an opportunity to feel all this climates. We were also having an opportunity to feel the Ramadan fasting’s culture, both of Hari Raya celebrations and also the culture of the Egyptian people. Their staple food was wheat. They like to eat bread called "a'ish". I don't know how to spell it, but its pronunciation was like that. Egypt also famous with "syawerma". It's like a kebab and this food was famous at Arabic restaurants in our country. All of you must taste this and I'm sure some of us already ate it before. It's too delicious!! Sometimes they fit the bread with "tahinah". Its look like a mayonnaise but the taste is quite different. They like to eat grilled chicken, mutton, beef and rarely eat seafood. That's why their body was tough and big. Egyptian people also like to eat raw onion, vegetables, fruits and drink fruits juice like sugarcane, orange, strawberry and etc.

We were also visit many popular places in Egypt such as Pyramids, Alexandria, Port Sai'd, Aswan, al-Azhar mosque, tombs of the prophets, El Fayoum, Luxor, Hurgada, and anywhere else. The place that I like the most was Alexandria. It's a cold city and has a beach. There was also located al-Farouq's heritage palace, a large famous library in those city and many attractive luxury hotels and restaurants. Most of the people who lived in here came from wealthy descendants. Egypt also famous with the Nile River. Many people visited it at the night because its view was so wonderful with the sparkling lights and they were accompanied with the cool night wind. We'll get a chance to ride the big boat and the boatman would take us enjoying the river's view. It's so interesting!!! We were already got this wonderful chance before. There were also some popular public transports like tramco (bus), metro (train) and taxi. We always use these transports to reach our destinations. Why don't we hire the car and prefer to use the public transports?? It's all because the roadways in Egypt were too congested with vehicles and of course it's dangerous for me and my family.

Along we were in Egypt; we learn Arabic language at al-Badr School which is located fifteen minutes from our house. It's the school for people all over the countries regardless of race and age. The trainers here were Arab ethnic and they use English language to spoke with us. My younger brothers, sisters and me studied here for about three month and then move to Indonesian School of Cairo (SIC) to learn academics. It's Indonesian school and all the students here were Indonesian people. Only I and my younger brothers and sisters were Malaysian people. Could you imagine how hard for us to talk with them?? Initially it's difficult for us, but after a few weeks, we can adapt ourselves with them and could speak Indonesian. They were very friendly and treated us very well. We enjoyed our studies here for five month.

We went for a shopping before going back to Malaysia. We bought something like carpets, scarf, clothing, Arabic sweets and too many more. The seller here are very friendly and this easier for us to haggle when buying goods. After a several days, we went back to our country. We didn't realizing that we'd been in Egypt for one year. The time flies too fast!! We haven't finished exploring Egypt. For me, It's an unforgettable vacation and I hope I could visit Egypt again soon..

                                                ~ THE END ~
